Reginald Charles Levy, 79 of New Ross passed away on June 15, 2017 in the South Shore Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Ernest and Ruby Levy of New Ross.
Reginald could always be found walking in the woods carrying his power saw and donning the red plaid jacket he loved so much. He was a great brother to his siblings and a wonderful friend to all, always putting a smile on someone's face with his positive attitude. For those that knew him is was pretty easy to say that he had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back.
Reg never had his drivers license or owned a car or ever drove a car but never had a problem getting back and forth for appointments or to grocery shop. His friends and neighbours were always willing to get him where he needed to go. Mainly because Reg was so easy to get along with and could always give you a good laugh during the trip. Reg very much enjoyed talking about by-gone days and the people he knew back then. He would often talk about how he missed the sound of the ox bells as the ox-teams went to field and forest for a day of work.
He enjoyed a drink with friends or family and was such a happy drunk, he was never hateful or angry. It has been said that "He never went to sea or even owned a boat, but certainly loved to hang around with Cap'n Morgan, but if the Cap'n wasn't available, he certainly was not opposed to spending time with the Bud!"
He is survived by Ronald, Donald, Willy, Aubrey and Audrey; his beloved cat that he took in from being a stray.
Reginald was predeceased by his brothers Josh, Willard, and Lawrence Levy.
Reginald would want to send out a very special thank you to the girls of the Credit Union for taking such good care of him.
